Welcome

This site is the place where I highlight my favorite photos. It's not intended to be a complete collection of my work, just random photos that I'm proud of. Checkout my Eric Bowen Photography site for a more complete collection of my work, and to buy prints or digital originals of most of the images you see here. Thanks!

Fishing by moonlight

Kihei, Maui - I'm not sure how the fisherman knows to wake up if he catches a fish...

Fire on the mountain

Forest fire on the slopes of the Haleakala volcano, on Maui, Hawaii.

UPDATE: CNN has been running one of my fire pictures (with permission and a credit). I'm not sure which one(s) they used, I haven't seen it myself, but my father-in-law saw it on Saturday morning.

City Lights

Here's my first picture with my new Tokina 12-24 lens... me likie! This 30 second exposure is "as shot", no Photoshop! The orange sky is city lights reflecting off a low overcast, and the trees and bench were illuminated by triggering hand-held flash multiple times to "paint" them.

Holidazzle parade float

This abstract image of a float in the Minneapolis Holidazzle Parade was created by rotating the camera while shooting at a slow shutter speed.
